Quinoa Breakfast Bowl with Apple and Cinnamon
A warm quinoa bowl with apple, cinnamon and walnuts. The quinoa is cooked for one portion and finished until creamy.

Ingredients
- 60 g dry quinoa
- 140 ml water
- 80 ml milk (3.5%)
- 1 small apple (approx. 130 g)
- 15 g walnuts
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt

Cook the quinoa
Rinse the quinoa thoroughly under hot water in a fine sieve. Bring it to the boil with the water and a pinch of salt, then cover and cook over low heat for 12–15 minutes.

Leave to steam
Take the pan off the heat and leave the quinoa covered for 5 minutes. Fluff it with a fork.

Prepare the toppings
Meanwhile, core and finely dice the apple and roughly chop the walnuts.

Warm the bowl
Stir the milk, apple and cinnamon into the quinoa and warm gently for 2–3 minutes until the apple softens slightly.

Serve
Spoon into a bowl and scatter over the walnuts.
Tip
Cooked quinoa from the day before saves time: use 180 g and omit the water.
